The truth. Jessica was talking about Denise.

Mazara del Vallo, 12/23/2010. A very important fact emerged from the last hearing, concerning the phrase intercepted on September 11, 2004, at the Mazara del Vallo police station, in the conversation between Jessica Pulizzi and her mother Anna Corona, where the girl said "A casa c'a purtai" ("I took her home"). The expert Genovese confirmed this phrase, so it has become evidence. The expert will be further heard in court on January 25, 2011. Regarding this important conclusion, Piera Maggio commented, "I have never had any doubts that the subject of their conversation was Denise, as can be seen from their dialogue, and the expert only confirms my initial hypothesis." She continues: "Despite the pathetic attempt by someone to distort this fact, perhaps telling the press that the conclusions of these facts are misleading, the truth does not change: during the conversation between mother and daughter, Jessica speaks in a low voice, compared to the rest of the conversation, referring precisely to my kidnapped child; it is the same Jessica who later avails herself of the right not to answer, it is she herself who decided not to clarify her position: despite this, today we have received confirmation from the expert appointed by the Court and it is before public opinion." Finally, Piera Maggio concludes with a painful note regarding the current situation she lives every day: "This is the seventh Christmas I spend without the joy of my daughter's presence: my house is empty and time passes slowly without marking festive occasions and pleasant moments anymore. For me, it will not truly be Christmas until Denise returns home."

Denise: source of evidence

Jessica Pulizzi spoke about Denise "I brought her home"

In September 2004, 11 days after the kidnapping of Denise Pipitone, at the Mazara del Vallo police station, Jessica Pulizzi, during a conversation with her mother Anna Corona about Denise, was overheard through an environmental wiretap whispering softly to her mother Anna Corona: "io a casa ci 'a purtai" (I brought her home), and then continued the conversation in a normal tone of voice. This was established by the expert Roberto Genovese, appointed by the Court to listen to and transcribe that environmental wiretap. Now, the expert report has been acquired as evidence in the trial and constitutes a source of proof." This was stated by lawyer Giacomo Frazzitta, civil party attorney for Piera Maggio, mother of Denise Pipitone, on the sidelines of the trial currently underway before the Marsala Court for the kidnapping of the little girl who disappeared from Mazara del Vallo (TP) on September 1, 2004. Regarding the outcome of the phonetic expert report, Roberto Genovese will be heard during the next hearing, on January 25, 2011.

Denise: The King of Belgium writes to Piera Maggio

The King of Belgium writes to Piera Maggio

Mazara del Vallo (TP), 12/14/2010 - Yesterday evening, Piera Maggio received a reply letter from the King of the Belgians, Albert II, responding to the request to establish an international task force for the search for missing minors. In the letter, the king, through his secretary J. van Ypersele, states that he has forwarded the appeal from Denise's mother to Stefaan De Clerk, Minister of Justice. The monarch's response concludes with a reference to a European conference held at the royal palace in Brussels in mid-November, focused on children's rights. The reply from the King of the Belgians adds to those from other European countries that over time are moving in favor of Piera Maggio's requests. The first draft of the task force structure will be forwarded to the competent authorities in the coming days.

Denise: Piera Maggio testimonial in Liguria for the day ...

Sestri Levante, 20/11/2010. On November 20th, the United Nations celebrates World Children's Rights Day. Italy adopted the convention with Law 176 of May 27, 1991, and with a law from December 1997 established the Parliamentary Commission and the National Observatory for Childhood. Denise Pipitone's mother, returning from the European Parliament, is today the testimonial of an international event organized by the Mediaterraneo Foundation, established by the will of the Province of Genoa and the Municipality of Sestri Levante, who wanted to reward the efforts of a mother searching for her daughter. The request for participation for Piera Maggio is due to a resolution of the Provincial Council of Genoa, which tasked the Sestri Levante authority with presenting proposals in favor of children, extending the scope also to cases of missing minors. "Our aim is to develop study initiatives for minors," declared Angiolino Barreca, representative of the foundation, "and we aim to support the search for missing children by providing our experience to uncover the dynamics underlying such serious acts against individuals, with the primary goal of preventing rather than intervening after the minor has been taken away." "We will take the Mediaterraneo Foundation's proposal very seriously," said Piera Maggio, "in any case, we extend to all Italian universities the request to establish a working group for the realization of an in-depth study on missing minors."

Denise: in Brussels, new guidelines for the investigations are being defined

Brussels, 17/11/2010. After the request to create an international task force for the search for missing children, launched on September 1, 2010, Piera Maggio, the mother of Denise Pipitone, the little girl who disappeared in Mazara del Vallo (Sicily-Italy) on September 1, 2004, will be a guest in the morning at the Royal Palace of Brussels, at the conference "Vulnerable Children on the run, a European Challenge" and in the early afternoon will speak at the press room of the European Parliament at the conference "European strategies against the phenomenon of missing children," together with the honorable vice presidents of the European Parliament Angelilli, Pittella, McMillan-Scott and Hon. Iacolino, vice president of the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs. The proposed topic will be that of a new police body, specifically trained, internal to the individual EU members, that can intervene promptly in the event of a child's disappearance and the establishment of a single European operational group for the search for missing children through large-scale media, which differs from and integrates with all the alert and contact services already operating in the territory.

Denise: act of vandalism against Piera Maggio's car

Denise: act of vandalism against Piera Maggio's car

Mazara del Vallo (TP), 11/10/2010. This morning, unknown individuals damaged the car belonging to Denise Pipitone's mother while it was parked in front of a school. The alarm was raised by Piera Maggio herself, who, upon returning to the vehicle at around 1:15 p.m., discovered that the car had been the target of severe vandalism. All four tires had been slashed. "After 7 years, the same incident that happened in the past is happening again," she said. "This is extremely serious because these are acts of intimidation against me, especially considering the current legal proceedings underway. What should I expect now, that someone will kill me after kidnapping my daughter?" She continues: "Whoever kidnapped Denise should not expect that these actions will intimidate me in any way or change my thoughts and intentions." In the past, after Denise's disappearance, Piera Maggio had already filed several complaints for similar acts, even naming the perpetrators. From a judicial standpoint, after many false statements about the alleged death of the minor were exposed, a criminal proceeding for the kidnapping of a minor was initiated against certain individuals, which could lead to traces of the child. The damaged car was immediately seized by the investigating authorities for further scientific examination. Numerous messages of solidarity (via Facebook and Denise's official website) have come from many outraged citizens, who in recent hours have wanted to show their support for the child's family.

Happy birthday Denise!

Mazara del Vallo (TP), 26/10/2010. Today at the Marsala Court, the fifth hearing of the trial for the kidnapping of Denise Pipitone, the little girl who disappeared in Mazara del Vallo on September 1, 2004, will be held. The date is significant because it coincides with the child's tenth birthday. There are numerous demonstrations of affection and participation, as evidence that after six years since her disappearance, little Denise is still in everyone's hearts. In Mazara del Vallo, the Movimento Bambino Foundation, the Maria SS. del Paradiso-Onlus Association, the "L. Pirandello" Comprehensive Institute, and the Municipal Administration will organize an event entitled "Together for Denise" in which, symbolically, the children will decorate the "tree of hope" with their thoughts. There are countless dedications and birthday wishes for the little girl, because people do not want to forget little Denise. Among the many expressions of solidarity, an important message from Brussels: "Best wishes little Denise, on your tenth birthday my affectionate thoughts are with you," declared the Vice President of the European Parliament with responsibility for children's rights, Roberta Angelilli, "and I send a symbolic hug to your mother who, with strength and vigor, since the day of your disappearance, has never stopped fighting for your return home into the arms of those who love you." Not only a demonstration of affection, but also of hope, which continues: "Dear Denise, I have welcomed the moving appeal your mother made to the European Institutions to ask for help and legislative support in the search for missing children, and I assure you that we will do everything so that it does not fall on deaf ears." Denise's mother had made an appeal to the heads of state of the EU on the first of September, and today a tangible sign of interest and participation has arrived. On the other hand, Piera Maggio has always said: "Denise is alive, and this is not merely the expression of a mother's interest, but a thesis supported by concrete and very reliable facts, such as, for example, the frames of the minor in Milan in October 2004 on which the RIS Carabinieri of Messina expressed a high probability that it was indeed her." To date, it has not yet been possible to trace that group of people and that minor in particular, so a direct verification has not yet been possible. Denise's mother does not intend to start a controversy with the authorities, but she is saddened that justice is slow. "Many people believe that Denise has been searched for assiduously for six years in Italy and abroad," says Mrs. Maggio, "But this is not true, because the prosecutor acts by investigating statements and elements of the investigation, relying on what is eventually received from reports or from the words of people informed of the facts. Where these elements are lacking, however active, the prosecutor cannot proceed." In essence, what is missing is a new type of body created for thorough and continuous searches for missing minors. For this reason, Denise's mother has taken action at the European level so that a new institutional figure responsible for international searches can be outlined in a short time. Today, October 26, 2010, Denise is 10 years old, and her moved mother addresses her directly: "Between us there is space and time, but no one will ever divide us. My little one, wherever you are, your mother wishes you a happy birthday." Public Information Office Association Cerchiamo Denise Onlus ufficiostampa@cerchiamodenise.it

Piera Maggio

Une mère"

"La petite Denise Pipitone was born on 26/10/2000, in Mazara del Vallo (Trapani) - Sicily-Italy. In a short time, during lunch preparations, Denise disappeared, probably kidnapped in front of her house, on 01/09/2004 in Domenico La Bruna street, at the corner of Castagnola street, directly connected to the highway. The last time Denise was seen was at 11:45 in the morning. 48 days after her disappearance, on October 18, a security guard dedicated to the protection of banking institutions, in Milan, saw a small child accompanied by some nomads (a man, two women, and three children). This child appeared very similar in somatic characteristics to little Denise. He called the Police, but before they arrived, the nomads left the place. The guard made a video clip with his phone and some photos were published on MISSING KIDS at this Internet address:"

http://it.missingkids.com/missingkids/servlet/PageServlet?LanguageCountry=it_IT&PageId=1931

Dans le videoclip, une femme du groupe de nomades a dit à l'enfant : "Danàs" et elle a répondu, dans un italien parfait, "Dove mi porti" (where are you taking me?). The first time, this videoclip was broadcast by Italian television on TG3 (RAI 3 - Sunday - 20/03/2005), the day after, Piera Maggio (Denise's mother) told the press that she was convinced that the little girl captured in the videoclip was Denise, her daughter. In addition, the guard saw a scar under the left eye and at the time of the abduction, Denise did indeed have a small scar under the same eye. After analysis by the Italian Military Police, they stated that the images captured in the videoclip had seven points of similarity with Denise, but it is not possible to confirm this hypothesis because no DNA was taken from the child in the videoclip. The most probable hypothesis regarding Denise's disappearance is that she was kidnapped in front of her house and then handed over to a group of Roma, but no one knows the nomads captured in the videoclip.

La famille ne pense pas que la petite Denise a été enlevée par des Roms, mais l'enfant peut être avec eux maintenant. Denise peut être avec une autre famille."

Denise: September 1, 2010. The road of consciousness

Denise: 1 September 2010. The road of consciousness

This message is addressed to all European heads of state and government

Mazara del Vallo (TP), 1/09/2010. Today, on the first of September six years ago, a little girl like many others was playing carefree at home with her grandmother. In just a few minutes, that unknown little girl would make the world talk about her, and her image would be indelibly etched in the mind of every Italian. The girl's name was Denise and right around 12:00 on that terrible day, she was kidnapped by an ignoble hand, perhaps as an act of revenge against her mother, Piera Maggio, who for years now has been searching for her everywhere without rest. These are difficult moments for her today; having to relive the memory and anguish of the first days without her daughter is heartbreaking and after countless initiatives for the search, she has decided that this date, the first of September, should be a day of reflection, or as she wants to call it, the "day of conscience." And so, in this disarming simplicity of a mother, she takes up her pen and writes, without limits or barriers, directing her sensitivity and pain towards all of Europe. In a sincere and moving letter, the woman writes to all the heads of state and government of the union, of all 27 member countries, sending the same communication to each of them, king or president, prime minister or chancellor, through the official channels of the press or their respective secretariats. In the document, translated into English to be more easily understood abroad, Piera Maggio asks the European authorities to establish an international task force under the direct supervision of the heads of state, for the search for missing minors and the identification of guidelines and international initiatives in collaboration with the media, in order to counteract child abductions. The woman addresses them "interpreting the sense of the European Union as that extraordinary cohesion" that allows her to see in them her representatives and not "those of a foreign nation." Piera Maggio hopes that all children will be considered "untouchable" and that "no one can kidnap a child in Poland because they would be searched for in France as if they were a French child and vice versa." All this is to carry out "targeted" interventions on a large scale, avoiding the territorial fragmentation of searches which in many circumstances actually prevents a positive outcome.

Mazara del Vallo (TP) - Italy, 09/01/2010. Today, September 1st, six years ago, a girl like many others was playing carefree at home with her grandmother. Within minutes, the child would have been known around the world, and its image would have been indelibly engraved in the minds of every Italian. The girl's name was Denise and about at 12.00 of that terrible day, she was kidnapped by an ignoble hand; motivation perhaps revenge toward his mother, Piera Maggio, who looks for her everywhere, without peace, since many years. These are difficult times for her, it is heartbreaking having to relive the memories and anguish of the first day without her child, and after numerous initiatives for research, she decided that this date, September 1, must be the day of reflection, or as she wants to call it, the "day of conscience." And so, in her simple nature of being a mother, she takes the pen and writes, without limits and barriers, sending her own pain and her sensitivity to the whole of Europe. In a sincere and emotional letter, she wrote to all Heads of State and Government of the Union, to all 27 member countries, by delivering the communication to each, king or president, prime minister or chancellor, through official channels of the press or secretariats, or embassies. In the document translated into English to be readily understood abroad, Piera Maggio asks European authorities to establish a task force under the direct supervision of heads of state, for searches for missing children and the identification of guidelines and initiatives of international cooperation, also with the media, in order to oppose the abduction of children. The woman is aimed at their "interpreting the meaning of the European Union as the extraordinary cohesion" that allows her to see them as her representatives and not "those of a foreign nation." Piera Maggio hopes that all children are considered "untouchable" and that "nobody can kidnap a child in Poland because he would be looked for in France as if the child were a French and vice versa." Anything to make interventions "focused" on a large scale, avoiding the territorial fragmentation of research that actually for many circumstances prevents a positive outcome.

Denise: September 1st 2010. The road of consciousness

This message is addressed to all Heads of State and Government of European Union

Mazara del Vallo (TP) - Italy, 1/09/2010

The road of consciousness

This message is addressed to all European heads of state and government.

Today is the first of September, and it is a sad anniversary. It has now been 6 years since my daughter Denise, who was only 4 years old at the time, was abducted in front of our home. The search for my poor little girl has involved millions of people, ordinary citizens, police officers and investigative bodies, politicians and institutions. All this shows that there is, and it is strong, an interest from all citizens of every country to be able to contribute to the search for missing children. On this sad anniversary, I have decided to take the path of conscience, a journey of awareness directed at the leaders of all European countries. I act as a European citizen, who feels free to ask directly those who govern other countries in the federation to pay attention to this problem that afflicts the whole world. And I address all of you, interpreting the meaning of the European Union as that extraordinary cohesion that allows me to see in you my representatives, and not those of a foreign nation. I ask you to help improve our home, because if the effort is not joint, no result can be achieved. You see, many people are convinced that I am looking for something special and extraordinary for a little girl, my daughter, who is like so many others. In fact, my little girl is special to me, as her mother, just as your children are special to you. What difference can there be in the pain felt by an Italian mother losing a child compared to that of a mother living in Germany in the same situation? The nightmare of losing track of one's child, experienced by the parents of a kidnapped Spanish child, represents the same dramatic anguish as the parents of a child in Denmark. But if all these children are special to their parents, then it means that in Europe there are thousands of truly special children who urgently need your help. What must be born is the awareness to move in the same direction, with the same intentions. The solution to the problem of a missing child in Greece will also greatly benefit the child living in Bulgaria. If the method is right and the action unanimous, the result will be strong and lasting for every country. What I ask of you is to create, under your direct supervision, an international task force for the search for missing children and support for their families, with extra-territorial competence and able to develop directives to be applied in every country for systematic and targeted searches. It is important that there is an in-depth study of the problem and that a solution is sought that is no longer localized territorially or linked only to investigation and police work, but that other channels are also considered for the massive dissemination at European level of images of missing children and a systematic, widespread search action. If each country limits itself to investigating only its own missing minors within its borders, for those who abduct, it will be enough to transport the children outside the country of origin for their traces to be lost. But if every European country (with the full cooperation of the media) takes up the challenge of searching for the children of other countries as well, I am sure that the success rate in searches will be greatly increased. Imagine the European Union able to consider all children as "untouchable," so that no one could abduct a child in Poland, because they would be searched for in France as if they were French, and vice versa. On this sad day, I have not organized demonstrations in favor of my daughter, as I have done in the past, but I have sought an inner moment of reflection. If you see me overwhelmed by fatigue, and believe that a mother can resign herself to a fate of injustice, know that you are only seeing the decline of my physical body: nothing has changed in the vigor and strength I have in my soul, and I will search for my daughter as long as I live, and perhaps beyond. No one will ever make me give up the principle of seeking truth and transparency, which today is often lacking in the investigative framework. My heart is suffering for negative events and unclear aspects of the whole affair, and I am saddened by the course of justice which, not completing its cycle, perhaps due to the lack of what I have mentioned to you, leaves in my hands, instead of a daughter, only a case number. I cannot accept that bureaucracy and the lack of a comprehensive strategy can, over time, weaken the flame of hope in the hearts of those who believe Denise is alive. She is not a porcelain doll that can be lost or broken, and for which one can feel sorry. She is a living child, who breathes and suffers, and who desperately needs help. So what I ask is not selfishly to take away my immense pain, but to restore freedom and identity to a human being. I add that understanding and solidarity must primarily be shown by understanding the reasons that move the parents of missing children, without accusing or misunderstanding their actions. These people, in their pain, must struggle with daily life and the exhausting effort of searching, both economic and moral. So what would be most appropriate in the face of this great difficulty is certainly not to express judgments and criticism, but rather to empathize with the real facts that these people live. For this reason, I thank from the bottom of my heart all those who are close to me and my pain, even in silence, showing sincere participation. In conclusion, I do not have the radical solution to the problem of missing children, but the experience gained over these years leads me to believe that if a solution exists, it must be sought with the collaboration of everyone. I trust in your deepest sense of humanity, so that you may be the light and hope for our children.

If the method is right, and if the action is unanimous, the result will be strong and durable for every country. I ask to do an international task force to save missing children, under your direct supervision. This will have extra-territorial jurisdiction to help families and it will be able to provide guidelines to be applied in any country for conducting systematic research and targeted. It is important that there is a thorough study of the problem and a search no longer localized or related only to crime investigation and police, but with a large consideration of other channels for the massive spread at European level of images of missing children. If each country is limited to investigate about its missing children within its borders, those who kidnaps children will carry them outside their country of origin, so they will be untraceable. But if some European country accepts the challenge of searching even the children of other countries (with the full cooperation of the media), I am sure that the percentage of success in research will be greatly increased. Imagine the European Union able to consider as "untouchables" all children, so that no one could kidnap a child in Poland because it would be searched in France as if he were a French, and vice-versa. On this sad day I have not organized demonstrations in favour of my daughter, as I have promoted in the past, but I tried a time of inner reflection. If you see me overwhelmed with fatigue, and you can believe that a mother may be resigned to a fate of injustice you must know that you see only the decay of my material body: nothing has changed in the vigour and strength I have in my soul and I will search my daughter until I will live, and perhaps more than this ... nobody can make me give up the principle of seeking truth and transparency that is often lacking today in this story. My heart is suffering by negative thoughts and a clarification is needed. I am saddened by the course of justice that has not completed its cycle, perhaps for lack of what I have mentioned. This leaves in my hands instead of a daughter only a number of a police case. I cannot accept that bureaucracy and lack of an overall strategy will eventually weaken the flame of hope in the minds of people who believe that Denise is alive. It is not a porcelain doll that you can lose or break, and for which we can say "we are sorry". She is a living girl, breathing and suffering, and desperately needs help. So what I ask is not the selfish act of taking away from me the extreme pain but i ask to restore freedom and identity to a human being. Add that the understanding and solidarity must be manifested primarily to understand the reason that moves the parents of missing children, without charge or misunderstand their work. These people, in their grief, must contend with the daily life and the exhausting effort to research, economic and moral. So it would be more appropriate respect to this difficult situation to not express opinions and criticisms, but rather identifying with the facts that these people live. For this reason I thank from my heart all those who are close to me and to my pain even in silence, expressing a sincere participation. In conclusion, I don't know the final solution of the problem of missing children, but the experience gained over the years leads me to believe that if a solution exists, it must be sought with the collaboration of all.

I trust in your deepest sense of humanity, because you are the light and hope for our children.

(*) Little Denise Pipitone was born on 26/10/2000, in Mazara del Vallo (Trapani) - Sicily - Italy. In a little bit of time, during preparatives for launch, Denise disappered, probably kidnapped in front of her home, on the 01/09/2004 in Domenico La Bruna street, at the angle with Castagnola street, that was linked to highway. The last time that Denise was seen is at 11,45 a.m. After 48 days from missing, on 18th of October, a guard that works to protect bank institutes, in Milan, saw a little child accompanied by some nomads (a man, two women and three children). This child appeared very similar in somatic features to little Denise. He called Police, but before their arrive, nomads leave the place. The guard made a videoclip with his phone, and some photograms was published on MISSING KIDS at this internet address: http://it.missingkids.com/missingkids/servlet/PageServlet?LanguageCountry=it_IT&PageId=1931

In the videoclip, a woman from the nomad group said to the child: "Danàs" and she answered, in perfect Italian, "Dove mi porti" (where are you taking me?). The first time, this videoclip was broadcast by Italian Television on TG3 (RAI 3 - Sunday - 20/03/2005), the day after Piera Maggio (Denise's mother) told the press that she was convinced that the little girl captured in the videoclip was Denise, her daughter. Moreover, the guard saw a scratch under the left eye and at the time of her disappearance, Denise indeed had a small scratch under the same eye. After analysis by the Italian Military Police, the images captured in the videoclip were found to have seven points of similarity to Denise, but it is not possible to confirm this hypothesis because no DNA was taken from the child in the videoclip. The most probable hypothesis about Denise's disappearance is that she was kidnapped from her home and then left with a group of Roma, but nobody knows the nomads captured in the videoclip.

Family don't think that little Denise was kidnapped by Rom, but child can be with them now. Denise may be with another family

"I morally condemn their silence"

I MORALLY CONDEMN THEIR SILENCE!! Beyond any verdict or fact expressed in court, I MORALLY condemn the accused Jessica Pulizzi, and her mother Corona Anna, for not having cooperated over these years with the investigating authorities. Since mid-March 2005, in fact, both have exercised their right to remain silent... http://www.cerchiamodenise.it/web/condannamorale.pdf (for Piera Maggio this gesture of theirs is unacceptable)

Denise: the mother asks for solidarity for work

Denise: the mother asks for solidarity for her work

Denise: the mother asks for solidarity for work + list (pdf)

"A calm and honest job" is what Piera Maggio, mother of little Denise Pipitone, is asking for, promoting a public request for solidarity that has already received some responses.

"I don't ask for anything special, just what basically every Italian citizen asks for, that is, to be able to live from one's work and support one's children."

After separating from her ex-husband, mother Piera is struggling because she also has to bear the expenses related to the search for her kidnapped daughter.

"It would be truly wonderful if someone offered me an opportunity in this regard: unfortunately, the real obstacle is the type of work, because it is unthinkable for me to take on a role in close contact with people, even though I would thank everyone for how much they care about my daughter."

By now, Mrs. Maggio is a public figure, having appeared on numerous television programs, and her job should avoid direct exposure, also to prevent complications at her workplace.

"Some of my colleagues advised me to look for a job, even a very simple one, but in back-office, at a medium or large-sized company.

I will do my best, I have studied for this and I am very skilled in the use of technological tools, even though the economic situation is difficult for everyone so I don't have any illusions."

Some members of the Cerchiamo Denise Onlus Association have created, in support of this initiative, a list of possible activities, also in relation to Mrs. Maggio's professional skills. The list is available at the link: List of possible activities

Denise Pipitone: no trace of the suspects in the house in Villagrazia di Carini

Marsala (Trapani), 14/07/2010 - No traces, neither biological nor fingerprints, of the possible presence of little Denise Pipitone, the girl who disappeared from Mazara del Vallo (Trapani) on September 1, 2004, were found in the property in Villagrazia di Carini (Palermo), used by some of the suspects, where, on the orders of Marsala investigating judge Caterina Greco, experts from the Carabinieri's RIS carried out inspections. The outcome of this "non-repeatable technical assessment" was reported by RIS officers during the evidentiary hearing held today before Judge Greco. The assessment was ordered as part of the second branch of the investigation, which sees Antonino Cinà (the house where the inspections were carried out was at his disposal), his wife Giovanna D'Assaro, her father Giuseppe D'Assaro, and Anna Corona, the latter being the ex-wife of Piero Pulizzi (Denise's biological father) and mother of Jessica Pulizzi, who, together with her ex-boyfriend Gaspare Ghaleb (accused of making false statements to the prosecutor), is currently on trial before the Marsala court, under investigation for complicity in the kidnapping of a minor.

Denise: the analysis of Anna Corona's cell phone does not clarify the mystery

The investigation into the moments immediately following the disappearance of little Denise Pipitone, the girl kidnapped in Mazara del Vallo on September 1, 2004, is still at square one.

The evidentiary hearing held before the preliminary investigations judge of Marsala, Caterina Greco, as part of the second branch of the investigation, did not, in fact, clarify the mystery of the possible presence near Carini (Pa) of the mobile phone used by Anna Corona, mother of Jessica Pulizzi, who is currently on trial before the Marsala Court for complicity in the kidnapping of the child.

"I know for certain - in fact, declared engineer Bruno Pellero, telecommunications expert appointed by the judge to verify the validity of the cell phone records used by Corona and relating to the movements of the phone from Mazara starting from the night between September 1st and 2nd, 2004 - that all the phone calls answered by Anna Corona had her phone in Mazara del Vallo. However, I am not in a position to express any opinion regarding all the anomalous contacts, that is, all those calls without an answer, probably due to a lack of sufficient signal."

According to lawyer Giacomo Frazzitta, civil party attorney assisting Piera Maggio, Denise's mother, "Pellero confirms some facts that we do not dispute, such as the fact that Anna Corona receives SMS and a phone call in Mazara, but regarding the subject of the dispute, the expert does not provide any indication, as he states that it is not possible to determine the causes of the numerous unsuccessful SMS delivery attempts."

In this second proceeding, those under investigation, again for complicity in the kidnapping of a minor, are Anna Corona, ex-wife of Piero Pulizzi and mother of Jessica Pulizzi, Antonino Cinà and his wife Giovanna D'Assaro, daughter of Giuseppe D'Assaro. Source - Denise: the analysis of Anna Corona's cellphone does not clarify the mystery

The evidentiary hearing also concerns the results obtained by the experts from the RIS of Rome and Messina after technical investigations in some homes available to the suspects; at the request of the RIS, the hearing has been postponed to July 14. The evidentiary hearing had been scheduled as part of a still open line of investigation, relating to the still unknown perpetrators of the kidnapping. Meanwhile, on July 9, the trial proceedings will continue against Jessica Pulizzi, accused of Denise's abduction, and her ex-boyfriend, Gaspare Ghaleb, who is only charged with making false statements to the Public Prosecutor.

Milan, 23/06/2010. Late in the evening, a news agency released the following headline:

EXPERT IN THE INVESTIGATION OF LITTLE DENISE'S DISAPPEARANCE CLEARS SUSPECT. THE WOMAN'S CELL PHONE WOULD HAVE REMAINED IN MAZARA ON THE DAY OF THE KIDNAPPING.

Operating as information professionals, journalists like you, we invite you to verify the news in question with the utmost accuracy, as it appears to us to be blatantly false.

The court expert today did NOT express himself either in favor of or against Prof. Cusani's thesis (*)

We point this out because it is the duty of every reporter to ascertain the substantial truth of the facts.

Denise: results and disputes over the expert reports

Marsala, 23/06/2010. The first data collected from the conclusions of the court expert, Bruno Pellero, during the evidentiary hearing do not seem to be decisive regarding the events that took place. In fact, a reading of the document highlights some elements that have already been agreed upon, while others remain unclear. According to lawyer Giacomo Frazzitta, legal representative of Denise's family: "Expert Pellero confirms some data that we do not dispute, such as the fact that Anna Corona receives SMS (and a phone call, ed.) in Mazara del Vallo and it is indeed her (with confirmation from the device's IMEI). On the subject of the dispute (1), however, the expert does not provide any indication, as he states that it is not possible to determine the causes of the numerous attempts to deliver the SMS.
